Can I come and visit the campus?

We currently provide on site satellite training at your premises or build project, all we require is a classroom and safe area barriered off to complete practical training.

Real practical training using old and new systems and knowledge with attention to (SWP) Safe Working Practices including DTB safety checks, and most importantly what to look out for onsite to keep you and your workmates SAFE!!

What does a form worker or Steel fixer actually do?

What skills will I learn on the course?

Formworkers build, fix and strike the temporary moulds (shutters) that shape wet concrete.

Steelfixers cut, bend, place, and tie reinforcement steel to give the concrete strength.

Both trades work together on major civils, infrastructure, and commercial projects.

Do I need any previous construction experience?

No.

Our courses are designed for complete beginners, career changers, and those already in construction who want to upskill.

You just need to be physically fit and able to follow safety instructions.

You will learn practical, site‑ready skills including:

Reading drawings and rebar schedules
Building and striking formwork
Tying reinforcement using industry‑standard methods
Using hand and power tools safely
Setting out, levelling, and working to tolerances
Safe lifting, manual handling, and site safety practices

How long is the training?

Course length varies depending on the programme:

Short courses: 1-5 days
Skills Bootcamps: 2 weeks
Employer Upskilling: Flexible, tailored to business needs

All programmes combine classroom learning with hands‑on practical training.

Will I receive a qualification or certificate?

Yes. Learners receive:

We are a Pro Qual approved center and as such you will receive approved certification on completion of your course.
Employer‑endorsed competency sign‑off
You can also work towards an approved NVQ qualification in your relevant career path
Additional certs depending on the course (e.g., manual handling, abrasive wheels)

What job opportunities are available after training?

Formwork and steelfixing are high‑demand trades across the UK. Typical roles include:

Is employment guaranteed after the course?

No provider can legally guarantee a job, but we offer:

What PPE or equipment do I need?

Learners must bring:

Safety boots

All tools, formwork systems, reinforcement materials, and specialist equipment are provided.

What is the difference between formwork and steelfixing?

Formwork = building the mould
Steelfixing = building the strength inside the mould

Formworkers construct the temporary structures that shape concrete.
Steelfixers install the reinforcement that gives the concrete its structural integrity.
Both trades work side‑by‑side on every major concrete pour.

Is funding available?

Yes.

Many learners are eligible for Funding assistance through the CITB employer network.

What are the entry requirements?

Aged 18+
Right to work in the UK (for employment support)
Physically fit for outdoor, hands‑on work
Basic English and maths are helpful but not essential

Where is the training delivered?

Training is currently delivered at your employers site location yard or project :

Full formwork systems can be used
Reinforcement bays for pre-fabbing
Practical work areas to experience hands on skills
Classroom learning is combined with outdoor practical skills

What should I expect on a typical training day?

A mix of:

Practical hands‑on training
DTB, Toolbox talks and safety briefings
Classroom learning

Realistic site‑based tasks, knowledge, measurements and assessments

Yes. We can provide:
